Install Play & Learn as an app
Save the website as an app on your phone, tablet or computer. It then opens full screen with one tap, without the address bar, and your child finds it like any other app. It takes about a minute, costs nothing and needs no app store.
Why install it?
- One tap to start: the icon sits on the Home Screen, in the Dock or on the taskbar.
- Full screen: no address bar and no tabs, so small fingers stay in the game.
- Always up to date: it is the website in its own window, so there is nothing to update.
- The same games and the same voice, in all five languages.
On an iPhone
In Safari. Chrome works the same way.

Open playandlearn.education in Safari and tap the menu button at the left end of the address bar: the icon with three short lines.

Tap Share.

Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.

Tap Add at the top right. Leave Open as Web App switched on if you see it.

Done. Tap the Play & Learn icon on your Home Screen to play.
This is iOS 26 with the usual compact bar. On iOS 18 or older, or with the tab bar set to Top or Bottom, the Share button (the square with an arrow) sits directly in the bar: tap it and go on with step 3. In Chrome on an iPhone, the Share button is to the right of the address bar. If Add to Home Screen is missing from the list, scroll to the bottom, tap Edit Actions and add it.
On an iPad
In Safari.

Open playandlearn.education in Safari and tap the Share button at the top right, next to the address bar.

Tap Add to Home Screen. If it is not in the list, tap View More first.

Tap Add. Leave Open as Web App switched on if you see it.

Done. Tap the Play & Learn icon on the Home Screen. It opens full screen.
Tip: Guided Access (Settings, Accessibility) keeps the iPad in one app until you end it. Open Play & Learn and triple-click the top button to start it.
On a Mac with Chrome

Open playandlearn.education in Chrome and click the install icon at the right end of the address bar: a small screen with a down arrow.

No icon? Click the three dots, then Cast, save and share, then Install page as app.

Click Install. Play & Learn opens in its own window.

Keep it in the Dock: Control-click its Dock icon, then Options, then Keep in Dock.
On a Mac with Safari

Open playandlearn.education in Safari and click the Share button in the toolbar: the square with an arrow pointing up.

Choose Add to Dock.

Done. The icon is in the Dock and in your Applications folder.
No Add to Dock in the menu? Your Mac runs an older macOS. Use Chrome instead.
On a Windows computer
In Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Open playandlearn.education in Chrome or Edge and click the install icon at the right end of the address bar: a small screen with a down arrow.

No icon? Chrome: three dots, Cast, save and share, Install page as app. Edge: three dots, Apps, Install this site as an app.

Click Install. Play & Learn opens in its own window.

Keep it on the taskbar: right-click its taskbar icon and choose Pin to taskbar.
On an Android phone or tablet
In Chrome.

Done. The Play & Learn icon is on your home screen.
Questions parents ask
Does the app cost anything?
No. Installing is free. The first game in every topic stays free, and the one-time purchase unlocks the rest, exactly as on the website.
Do my settings and my unlock code come along?
On a computer with Chrome or Edge, yes: the app uses the same browser data. On an iPhone or iPad the app starts fresh: set the name and language again, and enter your code under Options, I have a code. It counts as one of your 3 devices. Safari on a Mac usually carries your unlock across; if not, enter the code again.
Does it need an internet connection?
Yes. The app is the website in its own window, so it always shows the latest games and there is nothing to update. Without internet it cannot load.
How do I remove it again?
Like any app. iPhone and iPad: touch and hold the icon, tap Remove App, then Delete App. Chrome on a Mac or Windows: open the app, click the three dots, then Uninstall Play & Learn. Edge: go to edge://apps, Details, Uninstall. Android: Settings, Apps, Play & Learn, Uninstall.
